From what I gather, Australia's Liberal party will be forming a governing coalition with the Family First party (the name sums up the platform, obviously), or else it will have won enough socio-conservative votes by banning same-sex marriage earlier this year to win its first majority. Either way, it makes The Gay & Lesbian Kingdom a lot more somber than it ought to be. It appears they've found a number of legal loopholes and have significant international support, so don't be surprised if this turns out to be a big deal.
