Just as Douglas Coupland cements his post as Canada's (or at least Ontario's) Designer Laureate, I surfed across this site which runs industrial design competitions for money — although nowhere near enough given the insight in some of the designs. DesignBoom also runs rather inexpensive online courses, so I guess most of these entries must be from designers who aren't doing it as a day job yet? A lot of blogs are featuring the cup with a hole in it, which I'd wager is just about the dumbest entry on the whole site.
