It turns out that Spiderman is a socialist hero (unlike fat cat Batman), as this review explains. The last few paragraphs take a discontinuous jump into libertarian rambling, but the rest of it strikes a chord after having recently seen Spiderman 2. Makes me wonder which other superheros have significant class symbolism?
