I was reading BoingBoing in my spiffy new RSS aggregator and the best story in the feed was this talk by Bruce Sterling using a party metaphor to explain network scaling strategies. He mentions in passing the Rand idea that a terrorist network can only be effectively fought by another network, which sounds so insightful I just might have to read the book.
