Finally, a ranking where we beat the Northern Europeans (but lose out to the Aussies!): Mercer's cost of living survey. These are the same guys who ranked Vancouver second best city in the world, so they can be trusted. To summarise: city living in Canada is cheaper than almost every other First World country; Toronto is most expensive, Ottawa is least. I guess I need to stop feeling anxious whenever I hear rent prices in Vancouver.
